Now, let’s take a look at the best ultra-lightweight notebooks.

1. Lenovo Yoga 7i

  • Processor: Core i5-1335U | Screen Resolution: WUXGA (1,900 x 1,200)
  • Weight: 4.49lbs | On-board Storage: 1TB SSD
Lenovo Yoga 7i

Buyers looking to snag a competent machine on a budget will find plenty to like about Lenovo’s all-new Yoga 7i. Now, keep in mind that the laptop is not the lightest laptop on the list. In fact, at 4.49 lbs, the notebook barely made the cut for the list. That said, the device brings a lot of tech to the table, which may warrant a purchase.

For starters, the Lenovo Yoga 7i is backed by Intel’s 13th Gen Core i5-1335U processor. The CPU features two performance and eight efficiency cores and can deploy up to 12 threads for multi-threaded workloads. The P-cores can turbo up to 4.60GHz, and the CPU works alongside 8GB of LPDDR5 memory and a 1TB SSD. Needless to say, buyers who dabble with applications from Microsoft’s Office suite will find the Yoga 7i’s performance to their liking.

Additionally, the laptop sports a 16-inch, WUXGA touchscreen panel that can be flipped by 360-degrees. As such, you can use the laptop as a makeshift tablet to watch movies on the fly. Do note that the unit can get adequately bright at 300nits as well. That said, much like most laptops on the list, the panel refreshes at 60Hz only.

On the bright side, although the laptop is packed to the brim with enticing specs, the unit offers a sleek girth of just 0.75 inches. Add to that, the laptop comes with a stylus and offers a healthy assortment of connectors too. These include a built-in FHD webcam with a privacy shutter, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C and Type-A connectors, and a full-sized HDMI 2.0 port.

What We Like

  • Affordable
  • Oodles of storage
  • Good assortment of connectors

What We Don’t Like

  • Not as powerful as some other laptops on the list

2. Samsung Galaxy Book3 Pro

  • Processor: Core i7-1360P | Screen Resolution: 3K AMOLED (2,880 x 1,800)
  • Weight: 2.57lbs | On-board Storage: 1TB SSD
Samsung Galaxy Book3 Pro

Samsung’s Galaxy Book lineup has improved drastically over the years. Take the company’s Galaxy Book3 Pro, for instance, which is backed by a stunning, 3K AMOLED display. Needless to say, the laptop offers the most pixel-dense screen of any laptop on this list.

More notably, the Galaxy Book3 Pro’s screen refreshes at 120Hz, so you will revel in buttery smooth animations and UI transitions. Rest assured, the laptop’s display casts a tall shadow on the unit’s equally impressive innards. To that end, the device is backed by Intel’s 13th Gen Core i7-1360P processor that comes with four performance and eight efficiency cores.

Additionally, the P-cores can turbo up to 5GHz, making the device incredibly snappy for when you need a sudden burst of pace. Adding to the list of pros, the laptop is backed by 16GB of DDR5 RAM and a 1TB SSD, so you can save a truckload of data on the machine seamlessly.

To no one’s surprise, the laptop has been received rather well. In fact, folks over at WindowsCentral speak highly of the unit too. If anything, the laptop offers a lackluster port selection comprising just two Thunderbolt 4 ports and an HDMI slot. Regardless, buyers looking for a premium, lightweight laptop will find the notebook right up their alley.

What We Like

  • Reasonably priced
  • Stunning AMOLED display
  • Backed by a competent processor

What We Don’t Like

  • Doesn’t come with a lot of ports

3. LG Gram 17 2023

  • Processor: Core i7-1360P | Screen Resolution: WQXGA (2,560 x 1,600)
  • Weight: 2.98lbs | On-board Storage: 512GB SSD
LG Gram 17 2023

LG’s Gram lineup has, for years, put forth high-performance and featherlight notebooks that don’t break the bank. And the company’s 2023 lineup is no different. In fact, Gram 17 comes with a sizeable 17-inch WQXGA IPS panel. Despite that, the laptop weighs just 2.98 lbs.

That’s not all there is to LG’s Gram 17, mind you. For starters, the laptop is powered by Intel’s 13th Gen, Core i7-1360P processor. The processor offers the same core breakdown as its 12th Gen counterpart. However, this time around, the P-cores can turbo all the way up to 5GHz. As such, you will get a slight bump in performance when running CPU-bound tasks on the laptop.

On the flip side, the laptop comes with a 16GB, LPDDR4X RAM kit clocked at 4,266MHz. Additionally, unlike some competing products on the list, the Gram 17 only comes with a 512GB SSD from the get-go.

While we would’ve liked to see more storage, the laptop somewhat makes up for the same by offering a 2,560 x 1,600-pixel display. The panel gets reasonably bright at 350nits, too, and offers a 16:10 aspect ratio, making it a godsend for buyers who sift through webpages and lengthy PDFs on a day-to-day basis. LG also offers a handful of connectors with the laptop, including two Thunderbolt 4 ports, which is excellent.

ASUS ZenBook S13 OLED

ASUS’ ZenBook range is no stranger to lightweight laptops. The company’s ZenBook S 13 OLED, for instance, weighs just 2.20 lbs, making it a godsend for folks who commute to work daily. Additionally, the laptop boasts a competent spec sheet that should suffice for routine workloads, the likes of which include browsing the web, reverting to emails, and the works.

On that note, you should know that the laptop is powered by Intel’s 13th Gen Core i7-1355U processor. Unlike competing laptops with a 1360P chipset, the 1355U gets only two performance cores and eight efficiency cores. That said, the P-cores can turbo up to 5.0GHz. Additionally, the device gets 32GB of DDR5 memory that works in tandem with a 1TB SSD.

What’s more, the laptop features a crisp, 2.8K OLED display that refreshes at 60Hz. You should also note that the panel can get quite bright and boasts 550nits of peak HDR brightness. Since we’re on the subject, the panel complies with the VESA DisplayHDR 500 standard, so you will relish watching movies and TV shows on the set.

The port selection could’ve been better, though, as the laptop only gets two Thunderbolt 4 connectors, a Type-A 3.2 Gen 2 port, and an HDMI port. But, seeing how that’s the case with most ultra-portable laptops, it shouldn’t be a dealbreaker.

What We Like

  • Crisp, 2.8K OLED display
